Reiki has fast gained and is gaining fast acceptance across America’s medical, health and hospital establishment. It is becoming so popular because of its effectiveness and cost-efficiency in patient care and management. Reiki helps patient’s in the post-operative environment recover much faster than otherwise. It has been proved by interviews with the medical and health care professionals who have witnessed accelerated recover from surgery and improved and enhanced attitude towards their treatment. They have been able to overcome their negativity of thoughts, feelings and ideas and responded to medical care, medication and health care in a much improved manner.
There has been heightened interest among the general public regarding Reiki and its benefits and advantages. It has been found that one in three Americans have gone for this therapy sometime or the other. The amount spent on this method of health care has been a whopping 14+ billion dollars in the year 1990 alone and this figure has gone up multiple times since then. Another survey shows that in the year 2006, about 1.2 million people received energy healing such as Reiki.
Hospitals throughout the US are incorporating this energy healing in patient itinerary. There are MDs and nurses getting trained in Reiki healing and are applying it more and more in their regular hospital work. Often, they have in-house Reiki training programs which is used to train the hospital staff in the technique. Reiki is being used as a regular part of patient care and services in an increasing number of hospitals.
